Last updated: September 2026

ABOUT THESE TERMS

Audio Division is a trading style of Ilkley Car Audio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10760646; VAT number 410 2362 56). Our trading address is Unit 5, Lencia Industrial Estate, East Parade, Ilkley, LS29 8JP. Telephone: 01943 604345. Email: [email protected]. By requesting or accepting a quote, making a booking, paying a deposit, placing an order, leaving a vehicle with us, authorising work or purchasing products, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. They apply to all workshop work, products, online purchases, diagnostics, installation work and customer communication.

1. TRADING NAME

Audio Division is the trading identity of Ilkley Car Audio Ltd. The business has not changed ownership. All contracts, invoices, payments, warranty responsibilities and legal obligations remain with Ilkley Car Audio Ltd, trading as Audio Division.

2. QUOTES & ESTIMATES

Quotes are based on the information available when prepared and may be affected by vehicle make, model, year and specification; factory equipment; previous modifications or wiring work; vehicle, trim and battery condition; hidden faults; coding or software compatibility; product availability; supplier pricing; shipping costs; VAT changes; and additional labour discovered after work begins.

Unless stated otherwise, quotes are valid for 14 days. A quote is not a confirmed booking until Audio Division accepts a deposit, full payment or written confirmation. We may withdraw or amend a quote where the vehicle, specification, parts availability or job requirements differ from the information originally supplied.

3. BOOKINGS & DEPOSITS

Most workshop bookings require a deposit before confirmation. A deposit may secure workshop time, order parts or products, allocate labour, prepare vehicle-specific fitting solutions, begin design or fabrication work, and cover planning or administration time.

Once parts are ordered, workshop time allocated or preparation started, deposits may be non-refundable. Please give as much notice as possible if you need to move or cancel a booking. Short-notice cancellations, missed appointments or failure to attend may result in the deposit being retained. We may refuse future bookings where appointments are repeatedly cancelled, rearranged or missed.

4. CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PARTS

From April 2026, Audio Division / Ilkley Car Audio Ltd does not fit customer-supplied parts under any circumstances. We only install products, accessories, wiring, interfaces, speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, cameras, dash cameras, trackers, immobilisers, alarms, radios, head units, security products, installation materials and vehicle-specific components supplied directly by us.

This includes parts bought online, from marketplaces or another retailer, supplied by another garage or installer, second-hand or previously fitted products, imported or unbranded products, products removed from another vehicle, gifts and items claimed to be genuine or compatible. We cannot take responsibility for products we have not supplied, including their authenticity, safety, condition, traceability, warranty, compliance or suitability for professional installation.

If a customer arrives with customer-supplied parts, they will not be fitted. A booking made on that basis may be refused, cancelled or rearranged using products supplied directly by us. Any deposit, diagnostic charge, ordered parts, design time, allocated workshop time or labour already carried out may remain chargeable.

5. PRODUCTS, AVAILABILITY & SPECIAL ORDERS

When we supply products for installation, we source them through our chosen suppliers so that we can control quality, compatibility, traceability, authenticity, safety, installation suitability and warranty support. We are not obliged to match online, marketplace or unapproved-seller pricing.

Vehicle-specific interfaces, harnesses, adaptors, dash kits, radio kits, security products, cameras, 3D printed parts, custom mounts, bespoke enclosures, trim panels and fabrication materials may be special order, made to order or ordered specifically for an installation. These products may not be returnable. If an order is cancelled after parts are ordered, their cost may be deducted from any refund due.

6. DIAGNOSTIC & INSTALLATION WORK

Diagnostic work is charged for the time spent investigating an issue and does not guarantee that a fault will be found within an estimated period. Intermittent faults, previous poor workmanship, damaged wiring, water ingress, low battery voltage, factory system faults, software or coding problems and vehicle communication faults may affect the diagnosis. Diagnostic labour remains payable whether or not a fault is repaired.

Installation work is carried out with care and to a professional standard. Installation times are estimates only. Vehicle access, trim removal, hidden fixings, broken clips, previous modifications, damaged wiring, factory variations, coding, software updates, parts compatibility, battery issues, water ingress and poor previous installations can require further work. We will advise you as soon as reasonably possible where additional chargeable work is required.

7. VEHICLE CONDITION, TRIM & ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

Tell us about known warning lights, electrical or charging faults, leaks, collision damage, previous repairs or installations, non-working equipment, security or audio faults, coding issues, damaged trim, missing clips and modified wiring before work begins. We are not responsible for issues already present when the vehicle arrived. Please remove personal belongings, tools, valuables, child seats, luggage and loose items. We are not responsible for personal items left in a vehicle.

We take care when removing and refitting trim, but clips, fixings, panels and plastic parts can become brittle through age, heat, previous removal or poor prior work. Replacement clips or trim may be chargeable. Weak batteries, alternator faults, battery-management faults, starter faults, low-voltage faults, water ingress and existing electrical issues may affect diagnostics, coding and installation; battery support, charging, replacement or additional testing may be chargeable.

8. CODING, AUDIO & INTEGRATION

Coding, programming, configuration and factory-system integration depend on vehicle model, year, module and software versions, factory equipment, prior coding or retrofits, aftermarket equipment and manufacturer updates. We work carefully but cannot guarantee compatibility where vehicle systems, software or prior modifications prevent normal operation.

Audio performance is affected by vehicle acoustics, speaker locations, source quality, customer settings, road noise, cabin layout, budget and system design. Further tuning after handover may be chargeable. We are not responsible for damage resulting from misuse, excessive volume, distorted signals, incorrect settings or later adjustment by another person. Sound-deadening packages reduce vibration, resonance and unwanted noise but will not make a vehicle completely silent.

CarPlay, Android Auto, radio upgrades and infotainment integration depend on compatibility and factory specification. Features such as steering-wheel controls, parking sensors, cameras, vehicle settings, climate displays and factory amplifiers may require additional interfaces, and some features may not be retained.

9. SECURITY, BESPOKE PARTS & ONLINE PRODUCTS

Dash cameras, trackers, immobilisers, alarms and security products assist with vehicle protection, monitoring, evidence gathering and theft prevention. No security product can guarantee that a vehicle will not be stolen, damaged, broken into or targeted. Customers are responsible for subscriptions, app access, login details, current contact information, monitoring-centre communication, healthy vehicle batteries, insurance requirements and following handover instructions.

Bespoke fabrication, custom mounts, brackets, subwoofer enclosures, amplifier panels, trim pieces and 3D printed parts are normally non-refundable once design, printing, fabrication, preparation or installation begins. Small differences in finish, colour, texture, layer lines or appearance may occur. 3D printed parts are designed only for their intended use and must not be modified or misused.

Online-shop products are supplied according to the description at the time of purchase. Customers must check compatibility before ordering. Returns may be limited for vehicle-specific, electrical, made-to-order, 3D printed, personalised, opened, fitted, modified or customised goods. This does not affect statutory rights.

10. CANCELLATIONS, PAYMENT & COLLECTION

Cancellation and return rights depend on whether an order relates to goods, services, custom products, special-order parts or workshop labour. Where parts have been ordered, workshop time allocated, preparation started or installation begun with your agreement, deductions may be made for costs incurred and labour completed remains chargeable.

Payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise in writing. Vehicles will not be released until the balance is paid in full and cleared. Ownership of supplied goods remains with Ilkley Car Audio Ltd trading as Audio Division until full payment is received. Where payment is reversed, disputed, charged back or not received, we may recover the outstanding balance, associated fees and reasonable recovery costs.

Vehicles must be collected promptly when work is complete. Unless agreed otherwise, storage may be charged at £25 per day. Vehicles may be stored inside or outside according to space and workshop requirements. Keys may be stored securely off-site outside working hours.

11. WARRANTY, COMMUNICATION & COMPLAINTS

Warranty depends on the product, manufacturer and installation. Where we supply and install a product, it will normally be covered by the manufacturer warranty; labour warranty applies only to Audio Division work. Selected Audison and Hertz products may qualify for extended warranty under the relevant approved-dealer or Four Masters terms. Warranty does not cover misuse, accidental damage, water ingress, battery issues, vehicle faults, third-party work, tampering, wear and tear or faults caused by other vehicle systems.

We may communicate by phone, voicemail, email, text, WhatsApp, website chat or social media. You are responsible for providing correct contact details. We may take photographs and videos for workshop, warranty, training and marketing records; please tell us before work begins if you do not want your vehicle used for marketing. Registration plates and personal information will be hidden where appropriate.

If you are unhappy with our service, contact us in writing by email as soon as possible, including your name, vehicle registration, invoice number, booking date and details of the issue. You must allow us an opportunity to inspect the vehicle before arranging third-party work or repairs; third-party intervention may affect a warranty or complaint outcome.

12. LIABILITY, LAW & CHANGES

We will take reasonable care of your vehicle while it is in our possession. We are not responsible for pre-existing or undeclared faults, previous poor workmanship, brittle trim, aged clips, water ingress, weak batteries, electrical faults, vehicle-module failure, personal items left in a vehicle, loss of use, loss of earnings, travel or hire costs, or indirect and consequential losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of booking, order or purchase will normally apply. The customer-supplied-parts policy applies to bookings from April 2026 onwards.
